In the old
days (i.e. In the early 2020s, comedians were expected to be performing for
years in the UK before being invited on a TV panel and then selling out arena
shows. But it is not that simple in the present. One art form that can still be
performed live is comedy, however there won't soon be any arena tours. However,
one Bristol comedian has a huge following via social media lockdown. Abi Clarke
did not set out to become an internet-star. Abi, 24, lives in Henbury and
started making online videos "to establish a community of like-minded
people who would like my stand-up comedy." "I was performing a lot in
Devon to males in their 50s that were not as enthusiastic about my Love Island
Sims and Twilight references, so it was the right time to look online for
younger women who could enjoy my stand-up comedy." Abi, who lives in
Henbury with her parents has continued to post her videos on Instagram,
Twitter, and Tik Tok. She finds inspiration from many sources, such as conversations
with strangers, the chatroom, and writing down her thoughts on her smartphone.
