Moss, born on 13th February 1977, is an ex-American player in the field of
football. He played with the Minnesota Vikings (Oak Raiders), New England
Patriots (New England Patriots), Tennessee Titans (Tennessee Titans) and the
San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. Moss is widely considered
to be Jerry Rice's greatest wide receiver. He holds the NFL single-season
touchdown reception record of 23 in 2007, the NFL rookie single-season
touchdown record (17 in 1998) and is the second player on the NFL's all-time
regular season touchdown reception list with 156. Moss was well-known for his
skill at securing an elusive catch and "mossed" is nowadays a
football term. After his career in football began, he was hired as a studio
analyst with ESPN for their Sunday NFL Countdown program and Monday Night
Countdown. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia native. He attended DuPont High
School, one of two schools that were later merged into Riverside High School, where
the student excelled in football basketball, baseball, and track. Randy was
also a part of the school's debate team. Moss played a key role in leading the
DuPont Panthers football team to two consecutive state championships in 1992,
1993. He was an excellent wide receiver, but also played free safety as well as
returned punts and kickoffs, as well as was the team's punter and kicker. In
1994, he won by the Kennedy Award as the West Virginia Football Player of the
Year. Parade magazine named him to their All-American high-school football
teams in the year 1995. In 2009, they named him one the top 50 high-school
football players of all-time.
